End of April - Beginning of May

End of April - Beginning of May

We met up with all our friends from our Smyrna church, Vinings Lake, the day after Parker's family birthday party! Here I am with just a few of the girls after lunch. We had a great time - about 20 people were able to come!
Jac trying to pull K and P in the wagon... not really succeeding!

P and K hanging out at the tennis courts in the wagon - they aren't too sure.

Chris turned 29 a few days after Park's birthday! I tried to make him an angel food cake - but it crashed while cooling up side down - and didn't turn out too well. I took 1/2 of it to our friends the Marchmans since Kristin wasn't feeling well - so his cake looks pretty pathetic - but it tasted good! And it's low calorie, too!

Our builder was fixing some ceiling issues last month and they kept a scaffold in our house for a few days - so Chris thought he'd take advantage of it!

The finished product!

The finished kitchen...

The stairs before...

The stairs after! I have to give a shout out to my neighbor Robin who spent about 5 hours at our house one Sunday afternoon helping me paint these - and Nicki spending an hour or two one evening with me. Thanks girls! I didn't really thing this would take as long as it did - but this was also before I counted all of our spindles - yes - we have 135 spindles...

The art on the wall to the left of the door was my inspiration of what colors to paint our house!

SO happy with how everything turned out!

BACK to the important one :)
Deep in thought after dinner one night...

Parker and dada deep in though while watching some show that Chris has already memorized the words to! You may know it - the kid sings something like "I love my mom - my mom is cool" I decided I liked this show and it was 100% fine for him to watch!

The first weekend in May - Whitney, Doug, Kayley, me, Parker and my friend Kaci and her little girl Emma Grace all ran in a 5k in Cumming! We had a great time - and I ran about a 10 minute mile the entire race - which isn't too bad for only running for the past month or so!

Here is Parker and Emma Grace in their jogging strollers.
Kaci and EG
Me and Pman

We celebrated CUATRO de mayo instead of Cindo de Mayo with Whit, Doug and Kayley! Parker's eyes are beginning to REALLY pop - and they were gorgeous next to his blue shirt - couldn't help but capture them!

The weekend of Chris' graduation - Jeff and Lan came to stay with us! Here we are at our regular Friday night hang out - the patio at Buckhead Pizza Company! Yum!

THIS GETS US CAUGHT UP TO GRADUATION WEEKEND!

Parker's First Birthday Party!

We tried to keep things simple for Pman's birthday party and opted for a family-only party! Here are a few pictures!

His precoius cake made by my best childhood friend - Pattyann!

Park was pretty excited about it!

He's eye-ing the cake!

With all the grandparents - my dad (Hoppy) was stuck in London thanks to stupid volcano erupting!

Very much enjoying the cupcakes - 2nd time around!

Mommy got some on her too!

NOT very happy about me cleaning him off...

Presents time!  Aunt Nicki was able to make the trek from the far west (Kennesaw) for his special day!

Aunt Jessica made the trek from the deep south, too!  (Downtown Atlanta)

Park liked playing witht the card envelopes, the bags and the wrapping paper the most!

All the kids in attendance!  All of Parker's cousins.

Campbell like Parker's new beach towel!

OKAY - update #1 - DONE!  Only 10 more to go!

What have I been up to?

Oh - what have I been up to?  Well - a lot actually.  I have been a little selfish and into "me" the past few weeks - and this is what I have been doing with A LOT of my free time.  Shall I list?

In the past month I have:
  • Speed walked 10.5 miles
  • Worked out on the eliptical for 83 minutes
  • Completed 185 minutes worth of an upper body weight lifting workout
  • Completed 100 minutes of abs workouts
  • Completed 90 minutes of a lower body weight lifting workout
  • Completed a total of 150 minutes of maximum calorie burn boot camp
  • Completed 90 minutes of yoga
  • AND......... I have run 51.45 miles in and around our neighborhood.
So - if you ask why I haven't been blogging - the answer is - I'll get there!

But geez - do I have a ton to update on... I'll try my best to update on all the things below in the next week:
  • Parker's first birthday party!
  • Chris and my 3rd anniversary!
  • Chris' 29th birthday!
  • GRADUATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the HUGE surprise party I threw for him with help from family and friends from church!
  • We (meaning mostly Chris and some me - Nicki - and my neighbor Robin) painted 3/4 of the inside of our house!  Huge task - but we got it one in a week!  That's one good thing about having an unemployed husband I guess!
  • Oh - the fact that Chris lost his job a month or so ago - I can't remember if I ever even blogged about that - don't think I did - HOWEVER - it truly is an amazing story of how God just works everything out for us!  He still hasn't found a job but things are working out just fine!  God is so good!
  • And of course about 10 billion precious pictures of my precious boy :)
  • And - this next weekend - Chris and I are leaving Parker overnight while going out of town for the first time ever!  YAY for Ashley Hightower getting married and giving us a reason to leave our little one behind and enjoy a nice weekend together - babyless - I can't EVEN begin to imagine what it's going to be like to sleep in on Sunday morning!  And actually enjoy a meal together without entertaining P-man!  Wow - now I'm getting nervous - hopefully we'll still have stuff to talk about!  :)
