Right after our family photos, I headed to Cinco for our May Girls Night Out! Love my sweet friends! I was able to tell them all about our trip to Mexico and we got to catch up on Robin's pregnancy updates, too!
Chris and I helped at our church's Parents Night Out one night, too - we had a blast with the 3 year olds! You can see Chris just looks thrilled to be helping out - I think it hit a little too close to his bedtime! Ha ha!
We were pumped because for volunteering our time, we got a "free" PNO voucher for next time! Yippee!
The Testani family gave us all their furniture that we wanted since they were buying all new funiture for their dining room and family foom. We got Mr. Steve's trailor for the weekend and we had fun riding around our neighborhood a few times before heading down to get the goods. Parker thought it was awesome!
We love the dining room table and hutch! Chris' parents had given us their old one a long time ago and we loved it but it really wasn't my style of choice so when the Testani family (a family I consider my own) offered us their Ethan Allen set, I was so excited to have a set that I absolutely LOVED in my home!
They also gave us a spare couch that looks great in our living room!
I have no idea when this random picture was taken but it was too cute not to post! This girl LOVES going on walks as much as possible and she often falls asleep during them, too! So sweet.
We had the Appenfelders over for fathers day and we got to use our new dining room table!
THIS picture is from forever ago! I have no idea why it's out of order, but Parker had to dress for tacky/mismatch day the last week of school and this was his outfit of choice! He did a great job at mismatching his clothes!
After school was out, we made it a point to work on our letters at least a few times a week. Thanks to his great teachers last year and The LeapFrog video, Letter Factory, this boy knows all his letters, their sound and he's working hard on writing them all.
Even though the water was chilly - we headed to the pool as soon as possible after school was out!
Caroline's 18 month check up in May went great! She had shot up to 30-something percentile at her last check up and she has been getting SO SUPER chunky lately I thought for sure she would be closer to 75%.... I was excited for her visit to see how she was growing! For a baby who was once in the 2%, seeing fat rolls and chunky legs is so exciting!
So - you can imagine my surprise when she was DOWN in weight percentile at 24%. Definitely a very healthy weight but for all the fat rolls she's grown, I was just shocked!
I started running in May and was loving my new hobby! I had always been able to run 2-3 miles - no problem. Til one day I just kept running and ended up running 5 miles. Then I ran 6 miles. Then I ran 7.... then I started running with the kids to try to help my strength and timing! This was a pic of us after I did my first 6 mile run with the kids. We were on the Greenway and Park ended up peeing all over himself but it was overall a very fun run (for me!)
One thing I wasn't quite used to was the blisters and lost toe nails that came along with running! Turns out I was wearing the MOST inappropriate shoe for running... I fixed that after weeks of sore knees a quick trip to Totally Running!
Caroline was only 18 months but boy was she starting her terrible 2s! Tantrums began this summer and that was lots of fun.... right.
Mr Jon and Ms Robin came over for Jon's birthday! We loved chowing down on their ice cream cake!
This is the last year Parker will be able to help Mr. Jon blow out the candles! He has been helping him the past 3 years - if not 4 - but next year little Ms. Savannah will be here to help her daddy!
