Chris told me a month or so before my birthday that he had something planned, and it was a surprise! Now, most good wives would be excited for such a sweet gesture. I was stressed. There are so many things to take into account when you are a mommy... especially a breastfeeding mommy! He assured me the kids would be well taken care of... and that wherever we were, I would be able to go to the parking lot and pump in the car and store my milk in a cooler. OK. That didn't help - I was still stressed. I finally talked him into telling me where we were going and he gave in a few weeks before my birthday! We were going to see Canaan Smith concert at Wild Adventures in Valdosta! SO much fun! We first saw Canaan Smith at the Green Solo Cup party in Atlanta at Wild Bill's with Jon and Robin and we loved him. Well, he's touring with Sugarland this summer, and Chris heard they were playing in Valdosta! Score! We did end up deciding to spend the day at the park with Parker, stay for Canaan then just see how we were all feeling before we decided to stay for Sugarland. We had a blast! The park was PACKED full - the most packed it's ever ever been - but we still slapped a smile on our faces and had a great day. Parker is a roller coaster FANATIC and went on every ride multiple times that he could. He is also NOT afraid of a crowd. The water park with in W.A. was so full of people you could barely get through any of the areas. Park had no problem with that at all. Which made for a stressed mommy and daddy, but we held onto him tight and went wherever he wished! We had a blast and will possibly take him back again next year.
Here we are in the car on the way!
Our first ride was a spinning ride inside Dinosoar eggs! Park picked the blue one, of course, and we spun and spun until we were so "busy" (dizzy) that we nearly fell down! Daddy stayed off of this ride - his tummy can't handle the spins! Did I mention the heat yet? This was THE HOTTEST day of the year for sure! We were soaked with sweat within the first 5 minutes of getting out of the car!
They had great kiddie rides! Park loved these, but loved the bigger roller coasters more!
In line for the water rafting adventure!
W.A. is also a zoo and had lots of animal shows - we walked up to the tiger show a few minutes before it ended - which was great because that's about how long Park can pay attention to something!
The train ride takes you through the zoo area where all the animals are... Park LOVED being on a train - he thought the animals were OK too - but the train was the best!
Giraffs
Zebras
Something...
This was one ride Parker loved and rode about 10 times. I actually liked it too! Park was not scared at all even though it went REALLY high and REALLY fast in circles! Daddy sat this one out, too! These pictures were taken before we took off!
The safari was fun, too! We let Parker drive the Jeep and we sat in the back!
This free fall water ride was by far Park's favorite! We all rode together then Daddy and Park rode again! It was a complete free fall and Parker LOVED it and asked for more and more and more. He'll still tell you about this today if you ask him!
Park and Chris were on the second row from the front on the left.
Daddy was excited! Park was too busy chatting it up with the boy on his left... always chatting that boy is...
We had put towels down on the lawn earlier in the day to save our spot for the concert! Thank goodness we did - there was standing room only by the end of the afternoon! We hung out and ate pop corn waiting for Canaan to come on!
The highlight of my day was meeting Canaan of course! Park was excited to meet him too - but he passed out while we were waiting on him to come! We were second in line to meet him and I actually got REALLY nervous! I didn't realize it until after we walked away, but my hands were shaking! Park was obviously not impressed and slept through the entire meeting!
When Park and I got back to our blanket where daddy was waiting on us, I laid Parker down and he actually stayed asleep! So, Chris and I started thinking we would stay for at least the beginning of Sugarland. Then, we heard thunder. And shortly after saw lightening. So we high tailed it out! We love Sugarland, don't get me wrong, but we were really there for Canaan. :)
Daddy and P-Man couldn't hang with cool mommy!
As you can see - Parker had a GREAT DAY! And mommy did, too! Daddy did a great job planning this "surprise" day for me!
