And yesterday, our POOR POOR baby had his immunizations and he got 2 shots and an oral vaccine. Our doctor is a genius because instead of giving him all 4 of his shots, they have combined 2 of the shots into ONE, and they made one of them into a liquid that tastes like honey! So - what we thought was going to be 4 shots - quickly turned into only 1 needle stick in each thigh. He absolutely screamed his head off but only for a few minutes and then he fell asleep and pretty much slept for several hours after that. However, when he woke up ready for his 7:30 feeding, he was like a volcano erupting and I have never heard the child scream like he did last night. His face was BRIGHT red and his was screaming so hard he was choking. Poor baby! We called the doctor and they took nearly 40 minutes to call back and by this time he had calmed down a LITTLE but we were definitely still worried. After chatting with the nurses for 20 minutes, she decided to have us talk directly to the on call doctor. The doctor said to definitely give him some Tylenol and how much to give him and how often. After the Tylenol, he had his last bottle beautifully and then he fell right to sleep and slept his normal 8-9 hours through the night! Well, after he put him down, we were chatting in our living room and I was reading over our discharge papers we got from the office and we are so dumb. The discharge papers said exactly what to do if your child got cranky, how much Tylenol to give him, how often, and what symptoms to look for. Oh well - we just made our sweet little one wait it out a little longer than he should have - poor thing! Anyway - here are his pictures of his double whammy at the doctor :) Poor little innocent baby thighs!
