Mexico part 4

The next night we headed over to the Cove side for dinner and ate at the Mexican restaurant which was FABULOUS!  First - a few shots of the happy couple.

We ordered tableside guacamole which we love in the states and KNEW we would love in Mexico!  And we did!  Yummmm my mouth is watering just thinking of it now.  Ahhhhh......
So Chris ordered queso thinking it would be yummy queso that we get in Georgia Mexican restaurants.  It was NOT.  It was literally SOLID and NOT MELTED... apparently this is normal.  We didn't indulge.
After dinner we caught the end of the fire show... it was fun!  I wish I could have gotten a picture of these little animals we saw all over the place that night.  They are Mexico's equivalent to an opossum.  It was a rat... with no tail... and it hopped like a rabbit.  It was disgusting.

The next day - seeing it was our second to last day - I was sure to take pictures all over the resort so that we wouldn't forget anything!  This place is beautiful... I want to go back so bad!  It is heaven...

One of the pool areas.
One of the cove and cabana areas.  That "pool" to the right of the cabana is actually the ocean and it had fish swarming in the entire thing.  The cove actually takes up the entire length of the resort - at least a mile or so long. It was awesome.
More of one of the cove areas.  The water from the ocean behind the rocks that formed the cove would spray up on the rocks every so often.  It was beautiful.
The lake and waterfall area.
The pool area with the swim up bar.  We came here for lunch most days but steered clear of it as much as possible.  These people were annoying!  Ha!
More of one of the pool areas.
More of one of the pool areas.
The hot tub areas of the pool.
The resort and restaurant areas.
The beach area.  This resort didn't have a typical beach area.  It was mad made with the coves formed into the rock area.  We actually preferred it though!  We could get into the ocean any time without worrying about waves or sharks!
One of the cabana areas.  We hung out in these several nights and usually had them to ourselves.  It was great!
Part of the resort area.
"Our" cabana - as we called it.
This was the VIP area we stayed in all week.  So quiet and so peaceful!
We had an umbrella with comfy chairs all day every day... ahhhhh.... bliss.
More of our VIP area.
The area on top of the rocks was also for VIP only.  We loved this place.
You could also lay in these shaded areas, but we preferred the umbrellas.
We loved our bag we were using that week and realized the motto on it suited us pretty well!
My amazingly handsome husband... pure relaxation.
Oh - how I want to go back.  Now please.

Yes - the sky was really always that blue.  And perfect.
We took pictures with these trees because Park calls them Coconut trees (thanks Jake and the Neverland Pirates show)... we were excited to show him that they have these in Mexico!
Chris tried to climb it like Jake does.... he wasn't very successful.
Our view as we ate guacamole by the pool every day for lunch.
Our little friends that seemed to follow us around everywhere that week!
We could rent kyacks for free whenever we wanted to take into the cove areas so we took advantage on our second to last day.  It was fun!  But we got too tired after 10-15 minutes so we promptly took our places back on our comfy chairs for the remainder of the day.

We look like pros, right?

After our afternoon of fun, I went to have my facial done at the spa.  This place was amazing.  And I loooooved my facial.  Ahhhh - seriously - this place is Heaven.

I decided to go back to my short skirts for dinner that night!  When in Mexico......  I would never dream to wear a skirt this short in the United States!  Ha!
That night we went to the Brazilian steak house where they bring meat to you constantly and cut it onto your plate.  Chris had been looking forward to it all week - I had not.  I normally like places like that but this place happened to be on the Cove side (family friendly) of the resort and it was like a cafeteria environment.  After 5 days of hearing basically no kids, no crying, no noise... we went into this loud outdoor area where it was nothing but kids and babies and crying and whining.  I sat in my chair and sulked for about 15 minutes then Chris said we could leave.  HALELUIA.  We went to the pizza place that was also in the Cove - but no kids and no annoying crying and whining.  Ahhhh - paradise again.  :)  Because of my late facial that afternoon and our visit to two different restaurants for dinner, we missed the breakdancing show that night.  Oh well.... we headed to "our cabana" and on the way we ran into this elderly lady and her two daughters walking out of one of the restaurants.  Chris heard the elderly lady talking and he immediately stopped in his tracks and said, "Y'all must be from the south!  I haven't heard anyone say 'y'all' all week!"  She informed us that she was from Valdosta (which we obviously know well since we are from Waycross) and we ended up talking to them for quite some time!  Turns out that her husband passed away last week and her two dauthers talked her into coming on this vacation with them!  Well - get this - her husband is the brother of Tyler (Whitney's good friend and music minister at her church in Roswell, Ga!)  We know Tyler well and his family!  This lady's two daughters live in Kennesaw!  I was so embarrassed that I was in this little teeny weeny skirt and here was the family my sister's music minister at her church!  I mentioned my embarrassment and they said, well, we won't tell if you won't tell that we've all had too much wine tonight!  Ha!  We talked to them for awhile, then headed to "our cabana" then headed back to our room when we got too cold.

We loved walking around the resort every night - this place is the most romantic place on this earth!
Hanging out on "our cabana" after dinner that night.
