Nashville Girls Trip - Night 1 - The start of crazy

My first Girls Weekend Away started Friday, 3/1 around 1 PM!  Ang, Amy and I headed up to N-ville first!!!!!!!  WE WERE SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Here we are in the car as we were leaving.
About half way to Nashville, we cranked up some old school hip hop/rap tunes and I thought I'd "fit the part" by slouching down, hood up and gangster sign with my non-driving hand... I fit the part, right?!
This is sort of a long story for this one picture... bear with me.  We got to our hotel room and started getting ready for our first night out!  After we all got ready and beautified, and we each tried on about 30 outfits (FUN!) we called for a taxi to take us to dinner but Amy had to run and go find something in my car.  Picture this... our hotel room was 1 door down from the stairs that led down to an immediate door on the right which was exactly where I was parked.  It was snowing out so I parked as close as possible to the door and it just worked out that our room was right next to the stairs, too!  Well, Amy obviously didn't catch the memo when we got to our hotel room and so Ang and I were waiting on her to go get our cab right outside our hotel room (it was waiting on us in front of the lobby to the hotel) and we kept hearing these REALLY loud "boom boom" noises coming from above.  They'd get louder... then quieter... then louder, then quieter... I then realized they were probably some dumb kids running up and down the hallway.  I said something under my breath about how I was glad I brought my sound machine to sleep that night.  A few seconds later, Ang and I started really worrying about Amy.  She had been down at the car to just grab her coat for like 5 minutes... it was about a 20 second walk down the stairs to my car... no way it should have taken her that long.  She may be tiny but she's FAST!  We kept hearing the "boom boom" louder - quieter - louder - quieter the entire time... We call Amy to see if she had been kidnapped (it wouldn't be the first time she was mistaken for someone under the age of 12) and we HEAR her phone ringing!  From the stairs... right next to our room... but up one floor!  We start to yell up the stairs to her but the ringing gets more faint and we hear the "boom boom" once again get quieter.  We hear the "ding" of the elevator and from about 50 yards down the hall Amy comes BARRELING out of the elevator and running down the hallway to us!  1 - she didn't get the obvious notice that our room was like right next to our car (you must realize that the elevator was a REALLY long walk down the hallway... like really long way!) 2 - she went up to the 3rd floor and was trying her key in the WRONG HOTEL ROOM for like 5 minutes 3- when she was one floor up and right above us trying the key in the wrong door, instead of just walking down the stairs that were right next to us (remember we could HEAR her phone ringing like she was right next to us) - she ran all the way back to the elevator to come back down and then run back down the hallway to our room!  4 - the "annoying kids" I kept hearing running up and down the hallway were most definitely our sweet Amy's 4 inch heels!  We LAUGHED about this all night long... we are easily amused.
Well - to say the least - our cab left us!  So we went to the lobby, talked to some women who were also waiting on a cab.  Their cab ended up coming right away but we had reservations so we stole it from them and headed to dinner!  We made it just in time, were seated right away and our first round of drinks was ordered almost immediately!  CHEERS TO THE START OF OUR GIRLS WEEKEND AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I.  LOVE.  MARTINIS!  And this one happened to be giant... even better.
Amy and I at dinner...
Ang and I at diner... yes it was snowing outside and we were in summer tops... we had 100% plans to go to some clubs after dinner and did NOT want our jackets getting stinky and smelly so we had some "shawl" things and bundled close together for the few minutes we were outside.
We ordered sushi - BEST FOOD IVE EVER HAD - and after our dinner we headed next door to Whiskey Tavern for some dessert and another round of drinks to kill an hour or so before we wanted to hit up some clubs we had heard about.
To say the least, I LOVED THE DESSERT!  It was amazing!
W.T. had an awesome patio with a bunch of fire pits and gas lanterns... we were nice and toasty outside while we ate and enjoyed each other's company - WITH NO KIDS!  We loaded up on girl talk (you don't want to know) and every time we noticed our conversation turning lame (favorite vacuum cleaner brand, something about our kids, etc) we would change it as soon as we made the realization that we were being lame!  These were NOT topics to be talked about on our girls weekend away!
The beginning of the night... the fun had only begun!
After dinner we headed to "South"  a club one of Amy's friends had gone to when they had their fair share of honky tonk clubs the weekend before when they were there for a bachelorette party!
Amy likes to dance!  In a wide open dance floor!  When no one else was dancing yet!  An hour later, this floor was packed!  But Amy had no problem getting things heated up out there!
I soon joined her... after the bartender introduced us to a yummy drink called 'Purple Gatorade'!
2 hours into dancing and we were SWEATY and so glad we didn't wear season-appropriate clothing!
We literally danced for like 4 hours that night then headed back to our hotel!  Night one - SUCCESS!  Morning one - another success!  We all cuddled in bed when we woke up and talked about all the funny things that had happened the night before then snapped this picture to send to our husbands!
After we got up, we headed down to the hotel breakfast.... oh - another funny elevator story.  We didn't "clean up" before we went down.  We went down in our PJs, no washed faces, greasy hair... to put it bluntly we looked ROUGH.  About like any normal 30-ish year old would look after being up til 2 am the night before dancing at a club!  So, we go to wait at the elevator... and there was a small crowd of other people at the hotel waiting in line with us, but behind us since we had walked up first.  We are all waiting for the slowest elevator in the world to come get us - but after a few minutes we realized we kept hearing the elevator pass us - going up to the 3rd floor then back down to the first.  Hmmmm.... Ang asked after a few minutes if I had pressed the elevator button.  WHOOPS.  Our small crowd had grown into a rather large crowd (mostly middle-aged med) that just looked at each other and laughed under their breath and shook their heads.  I quickly slammed the elevator button and it immediately opened for us to all crowd in to go downstairs.  We were literally laughing the entire time!  They thought we were crazy.  So we get off the elevator to find a full breakfast bar - SLAMMED with all sorts of people and like literally no breakfast left!  We also ran into the ladies we had met the night before but had stolen their cab... so a few seconds of that and we all headed back up to the room.  We put on shoes and headed out to Starbucks then IHOP for some yummy breakfast that we could eat in our PJs, yucky faces and greasy hair and not be judged!

It was still snowing that day so after breakfast we headed back, got showered and dressed then headed to Green Hills Mall in downtown N-ville!  We SHOPPED ALL DAY LONG and had a blast!  Cannot remember the last time I went shopping with no time to limit me to be done by.  We picked out an entire new outfit for Ang (FUN!) had some yummy lunch then about the time we were done, we got a call from the other girls that they were close!  So as we headed out the mall, Ang realized she didn't have her jacket!  HOLY BA-JOLEY!  We had literally be in every single store in the mall!  She had no idea where she left it!  She left to go look in the far end of the mall... we started in the first store we were in... and we found it!  We went to the dressing room she had been in, wasn't there.  But as we passed the sales counter, there was a huge pile of clothes needing to be hung back up and under neath it, Amy saw a small tiny piece of sleeve sticking out under the pile... IT WAS ANG'S JACKET!  We literally started yelling in the store we were so excited (a few stares from people around) then we high tailed it out of their and texted Ang the good news!

So - after our drama-filled day we headed to our next hotel for the weekend to meet up with our other besties!  Nashville - Girls Weekend Away - Part 2 - The Craziness gets Crazier... coming soon.
